United Civil was the Prime Contractor in the Woburn to Wakefield 345kV Cable Project. A National Grid and Eversource cooperative effort, this section of XLPE ductbank course 4-miles from National Grid’s Wakefield Junction Substation in Wakefield to an Eversource interface point in Woburn, MA.

Unique features include one uninterrupted pipejacking (Jack and Bore) operations; installation of HOBAS glass-fiber-reinforced casing beneath The Mill River, and a welded stainless-steel casing under active railroad tracks; both with significant dewatering filtration requirements
