United Civil served as the Prime Contractor for National Grid on the State Street Ductbank Installation project in downtown Syracuse. Originally awarded as separate packages, with South State Street delivered as the initial phase, the North State Street and South State Street corridors were ultimately executed as a single, continuous project totaling approximately 2 miles within a dense urban right-of-way.

United Civil performed the excavation, installation, and backfill of a 4-inch Schedule 20 conduit ductbank system, with configurations ranging from 2-way to 16-way, requiring detailed coordination with National Grid, Dig Safe, and local utility stakeholders. The scope also included the installation of one cast-in-place manhole, eight precast manholes, three manhole rebuilds, one handhole, and three pull boxes, along with final as-built surveying.

Throughout construction, United Civil worked closely with the local Water Department to address field conditions, including repairing leaking services and properly abandoning outdated lines.
