United Civil was the Prime Contractor for National Grid on this electric ductbank and vault installation/rebuild project located in Utica, NY. This is one of Utica’s safety improvement projects to reshape transportation in the downtown area.

The project scope included construction of about 10,306 linear feet of nine-way distribution ductbank, (25) new vaults, and (105 existing vault retirements.

The ductbank route required most of the trenching to be through busy urban areas of downtown Utica, NY. This project required a high level of coordination with coinciding projects, including a National Grid gas line replacement, city water line replacement and a fiber optic system installation project.
