United Civil performed civil infrastructure for Nantucket’s latest Tesla energy project at National Grid’s Bunker Road facilities. This 48MW project involved installing 200 utility-scale Tesla Powerpacks that will provide backup power to help meet the island’s increasing energy demands.
United Civil specifically worked in the installation of new foundations for the transformer and 30,000-gallon diesel fuel tank, as well as a 3,800 sf, state-of-the-art rainwater storage system and 1,000 lf free protection loop. Our scope also included excavation, backfill and grading for foundations, placement of concrete foundation pads, pier and ammonia containment, installation of underground conduits, installation of underground electrical grid system, infiltration/trench/catch basins with inlet protection, demolition and stabilization.
