United Civil is currently performing the civil package for construction of DCR’s new maintenance facility, located in the Northpoint neighborhood of Cambridge, MA. The project site is located near the Zakim Bridge, adjacent to the MBTA North Station commuter rail entrance.

In preparation for the installation of foundations and utilities, the site required extensive removal of contaminated materials. An excess of 10,000 tons of contaminated materials were removed within the new building footprint and utility trenches throughout the site. Excavated areas required liner and backfill before re-excavation could occur. Other scope included the balance of utilities, earthwork, pavement, curbing and final site work.
